SERVICES

The purpose of Kul Shipping marine establishment is to provide services to ships, and it will primarily start its activities by meeting the technical and personnel needs of 2 general cargo ships. It also employs approximately 50 seafarers and 11 shore personnel.​ Its services are offered in a world-class, quality, safety and environmental standard, quality and reliable way.
It continues to expand its professional team by always following innovations and changes for no accidents, environmental pollution and no detention.

POLICIES

Company Policies

Company recognizes that its activities may involve potential hazards and it is the Company’s primary and continuing policy to create so far as is reasonably practicable a safe and healthy environment for the benefit of its employees and clients. Main aim is; To establish and maintain safe, environmentally-sound working procedures and practices throughout its operation. To comply with all statutory requirements concerning health and safety. To prevent accidents and to ensure that action is taken to avoid them through an efficient method of accident/incident reporting and investigation. The creation of active and participative ship board safety committees which are fully supported by management. To ensure that arrangements exist for joint consultation and exchange with all employees on health and safety matters and to encourage and promote effective participation by all employees in accident prevention. To be effective this policy must involve everyone. Consequently, all employees must co-operate with management in their endeavors to fulfill the aims of this policy and take full responsibility to work in a safe manner. They must not act or omission knowingly endangers themselves or their colleagues. The Company recognizes that effective communication, instruction and training, in health and safety accident prevention is an important part of this policy.

Drug And Alcohol Policy

Recognizing that drugs and alcohol can impair ability to perform duties in a safe way KUL SHIPPING, has adopted the policy that no seafarer, whatever rank will navigate the vessel, operate its equipment or perform assigned duty at any time while impaired by drugs or alcohol. Being unfit for work due to the use of drugs or alcohol gives grounds for employment termination. The Company will not authorize the employment of any persons who are users of or have a recent record of the use of illegal drugs or have abused the use of prescribed drugs. Any crew member found in contravention of the Company’s drug policy will be instantly dismissed and handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution. All are reminded that in certain countries possession of illegal drugs can result in the DEATH PENALTY. KUL SHIPPING prohibits the use by anybody onboard of any substance which is defined as narcotic and is illegal. Drugs used for medical reasons are allowed provided that sufficient evidence is presented to the master, his permission is given and any conditions he sets are carefully followed. KUL SHIPPING controls the acquisition and use of alcoholic substances and all medical supplies and prescribed medicines on board the managed vessels. The distribution or sale of alcoholic beverages on company vessels by any individual is not allowed. Any person found to be in possession of or trafficking in illegal substance will be liable to immediate dismissal from the vessel. This policy will be strictly enforced at all times both ashore and on board.

Enviromental Policy

•Company recognizes and accepts its responsibility to make every endeavour to avoid pollution of the atmosphere, seas, rivers and waterways. The provisions of International and National Regulations relating to dumping of wastes and the International Convention of Pollution of the Sea by Oil will be complied with by all personnel. Management will demonstrate through effective planning and training of personnel that the company exercises a high degree of pollution prevention and that we operate our business in a proper and responsible manner. Management will respond positively to recommendations for changes to policies, procedures or equipment in respect of environment protection. When exploring new business opportunities or methods, full account will be taken of potential environmental impact to ensure that this policy is not compromised. The commitment of all company employees to high standards of environmental protection is mandatory. Ship specific “Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plans” (SOPEP) have been developed and are implemented to assist ship’s personnel to stop or minimize the unexpected discharge of oil and to initiate its effect.

Personel Policy

Employing only medically fit and mentally sound, suitably qualified and experienced personnel as required in national and international rules and regulations. Previous employment records of individual personnel shall be considered, including appraisal reports and references from previous employers. All shore based and ship based personnel a sense of belonging to become long serving employees of the company and inculcating them a sense of loyalty and dedication. All shore based and ship based personnel shall be familiar with Company HSQEM system and relevant procedures and they shall be given refreshment training on the same in regular intervals. Ensure that compliance with the HSEQ standards is a key ingredient in the identification of training needs and performance reviews of shore and shipboard personnel.

Safety Policy

Provide healthy and safe working conditions, and to maintain a safe and pollution-free operating practice that complies with national and international regulations and relevant standards and guidelines. The Company is totally committed to achieving the highest management standards with particular emphasis placed upon marine safety, safe working practices and the protection of the marine environment. The Company aims to remain a leading Ship Management Company by continuous improvement and innovation. This involves the active participation, endeavour and ideas of all shore staff and seagoing personnel. I promise to take responsibility for the implementation of the Safety Management System, and guarantee that all personnel working in the office, related services and the seafarers including the Master onboard perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of the Safety Management Manual.
